Make Your High-Quality Coffee Supply Last 2X Longer

April 20, 2021 by Troy Delaney Leave a Comment

I like to enjoy high-quality coffee in the morning.

Organic, mycotoxin/mold-free, specialty-grade, free-trade…all the hoity toity buzz words.

In other words, the top 1% of coffee beans.

But good quality coffee isn’t cheap. I look at it as an investment in my health so I feel it’s worth it.

One thing I do to stretch my coffee supply is what I call “coffee cutting”. I use half the amount of beans I would typically use plus I cut down on the amount of caffeine by adding a few caffeine-free “coffee alternatives” to maintain a similar taste while also enhancing the health benefits.

This allows me to:

  • Reduce the caffeine content
  • Add extra health benefits to my morning brew
  • Invest in higher quality coffee
  • Not have to sacrifice the health benefits of coffee while avoiding the negative effects (like mold)

The Ultimate Guide to Decaf Coffee: Using it to Improve Health & Performance and Choosing the Best Decaf

January 25, 2021 by Troy Delaney 1 Comment

Many people are dependent on their coffee and don’t even know it. They rely on and look forward to that ‘kick’ first thing in the morning. Or you might be one of those that experience unpleasant physical and mental symptoms from caffeine, including anxiety, insomnia, irregular heartbeat, stomach pain, and bladder irritation.

Most people don’t even consider replacing regular coffee with decaf, even for a short period of time because most decafs taste bad and may harm your health because of the potentially dangerous chemicals they use to process it.

In fact, most commercial decaf coffees use Methylene Chloride or Ethyl Acetate in their decaffeination process. Ethyl Acetate is commonly also used in glues, nail polish removers. Methylene chloride is so harmful that it was even banned to be used in paint thinners. The FDA has approved the chemical to be non-toxic to consume in accepted levels.

Although most of us will not be imminently affected by methylene chloride, those who are vulnerable include pregnant moms, the elderly, and those with heart complications. You can see the issue here as those groups are usually decaf drinkers. This harsh chemical used in most decaf coffees can be passed on from the mother to the baby which can cause serious damage even if it is a small amount of methylene chloride.

Finding the right decaf that tastes good, makes you feel good and is good for you can be a complete game changer.

You can enjoy decaf coffee and still drink regular strategically to get the most out of it.

WHY DRINK DECAF

How to Quit Caffeine (aka Caffeine Reset)

Today, caffeine is America’s most popular drug — it’s an energy-boosting, focus-enhancing superfood. But there is a downside — many people feel like they need to consume greater and greater amounts of caffeine to feel any “buzz”. Unfortunately, this is just caffeine tolerance building up.

Caffeine- Strategic Use

Caffeine definitely has its advantages. Research has shown that the moderate, long-term use of caffeine may provide benefits such as: improving memory, boosting testosterone, warding off Alzheimer’s, reducing the risk of kidney stones, reducing weight (by suppressing appetite), and providing protection from type-2 diabetes.

The Critical Thing Dr.Oz Left Out of His Butter Coffee Recipe (aka Bulletproof Coffee)

June 4, 2014 by Troy Delaney

butter in coffee If you found my post on google, welcome! I hope this answers all your questions on Bulletproof Coffee, Intermittent Fasting and putting butter in your coffee. If not, leave a comment and I’ll get you an answer right away. If you want to learn more about Intermittent Fasting, check out my full Intermittent Fasting Guide.

In an episode of Dr. Oz, he explained how to make “rocket fuel” coffee in which he recommended replacing sugar in coffee with butter. Dr. Oz claimed the butter causes the caffeine to last longer in your body, which is true.

But it actually does much more than that.

You have probably heard about butter in coffee somewhere else if it wasn’t Dr. Oz. It’s becoming very popular. But butter in coffee is nothing new. Ethiopians are known to mix spiced butter into their coffee. A staple drink for Tibetans is yak butter vigorously churned into their hot tea to prevent the fat and water from separating. This is regarded as an essential source of energy and helps them flourish in their harsh, frigid climate. [Read more…]
