Named must your fear be before banish it you can. – Yoda
This is not about CrossFit but let me start out with a story about it.
Why would anyone do CrossFit you ask…
We start CrossFit to lose weight or build muscle, to seek out an adrenaline rush, to feel stronger or build confidence.
But what we realize once we get into it is that those all just happen to be really great perks.
What keeps us coming back and keeps us excited is that we are finally doing things we never thought we could do.
You know the feeling – the “Holy sh!t, I can’t believe I just did that!” feeling.
We embrace the discomfort, knowing the discomfort will lead to growth — mentally, physically and spiritually.
We do it because we know that enduring a small amount of physical discomfort is worth the mental strength we’ll gain.
It empowers us to step out of our comfort zone — and that’s a good thing. Because once we pass discomfort and fear, we realize there was nothing to fear in the first place.
And this empowerment stays with you throughout the day.
Those few minutes of discomfort are worth the accomplishment and the mindset that becomes you.
Name your fear and put the uncomfort behind you.
What will your next holy sh!t moment be?
